OUR STORY

California native, Mikey and Lily Wetzel, brought a piece of home to share with all of Salisbury, NC. Freshly made and cooked to perfection, this award-winning burrito and bar experience hit the maps in North Carolina in 2013 and since then has spread the love for burritos, queso, and fresh made guacamole.  Mikey and Lily met after college in Seattle, where Mikey had a 16-year career working on the Xbox for Microsoft. They made the decision to ditch the beach for the lake and made High Rock Lake their new home!

DREAMS BECAME REALITY

After visiting North Carolina , Mikey’s sister decided to join them in the Carolina’s and they began exploring the idea of opening a candy store in historic downtown Salisbury. While hunting for the perfect building, they came across the former Carousel Cafe that transitioned into a sandwich shop. This sparked an idea and after hours of crunching numbers, they decided to open a restaurant. Longing for a good California-style burrito, they started to make Go Burrito a reality.

SALISBURY'S BEST ROOFTOP HANGOUT

Since we found an architect and local builder excited about helping us create the coolest atmosphere in town,  every obstacle was overcame with ease. After the original plan was rejected by the city, the architect revisited the drawing board and created a plan that made Go Burrito! the only bar with a rooftop patio within 50 miles!

After roughly a year from concept to construction, the doors to Go Burrito! opened in February 2013. Microsoft asked Mikey to move back to Seattle, but he made the leap to be a full-time entrepreneur, focusing 100% on Go Burrito!
